My name is Richard (Rong Feng) Ye - 叶融丰
and I'm a student at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) studying Co-op
Finance and Statistics.
As a third-year student, I've been very involved in my campus' extracurricular
activities and I've more than acclimated to the ups and downs of course workload.
I've been a part of the Management and Economics Student Association (MESA),
the Management Consulting Group (MCG), as well as the UTSC Crimson Tide
Dragonboat Racing Team.
In the coop program, I've had the privilege to intern at TD's Enterprise
Data and Analytics Department as part of their Product Strategy team. That was
my first exposure to both product strategy and data science, which have become
two fields I've come to develop interests in. During my time at TD, I assisted
in executing a feature prioritization framework for our Data Ecosystem Roadmap,
and gained a holistic view of various data science tools and their many use
cases. I'm currently reading "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" by Michael Nielsen
to gain a fundamental understanding of data science concepts to prepare myself for more
technical roles.
Taking part in 5+ Case Competitions during my time at UTSC, I've gained a lot of experience creating and giving presentations with innovative and realistic action plans all in high-pressure environments.
Competed at the 2019 UofTHacks hackathon, using a weekend to brainstorm, research,
design and develop a working prototype pothole dectection robot in a team of 4.
This project placed us third overall out of 360 participants.

Joining the UTSC Crimson Dragons Dragonboat team was one of the best decisions I made in first year! This experience gave me the opportunity to make lots of friends, keep active, and work in a team that requires the utmost coordination and sync.
